Strategy – a Daily Prompt poem

Is there really a strategy
to which my life can follow?
What about times when I feel low
and I feel alone and hollow

Is there a strategy out there
to deal with grief and pain?
Or to get through those difficult days
where life gets repetitive and mundane

There must be a strategy
in dealing with matters of the heart
Maybe not in love or lust..
but when love turns sour and tears us apart

Maybe there isn’t a strategy
Maybe we have to find our way
Through each second we struggle,
And each minute and each day

Until eventually we don’t crave a strategy
We start to love the choices me made
We appreciate the freedom to take risks
And learn to never be afraid.

Our strategies are foiled too often for me to actually have a long term one. Figure it out as you go. Sometimes, i have a planned routine to get me the things I want, but a detour occurs, and you have to take time and re-evaluate, and/ or rest.
