Elizabeth Everywhere’s Questions:
How long have you been blogging?
I have been blogging for 6 weeks today! It seems like it’s been so much longer and I’ve achieved more than I ever thought I would so it’s been an amazing experience so far.
What initially inspired you to start a blog?
I wrote about why I started blogging in my first ever post here. Simply put, through an event, I realised that I was getting older and had experiences and feelings that I wanted to write about and share to help others. It hasn’t stayed so much a ‘diary’ but it is my place where my thoughts, feelings and experiences are honestly shared.
What do you love about blogging?
I love getting my words down. It’s like a release. I can be having the worst day, and I can come home and just literally let the words flow and I can feel the emotions I’ve been harbouring all day release with each paragraph. As well as the writing, the community has become my favourite place. I love opening my Twitter and my blog and connecting with friends and new/old bloggers. It’s such a diverse and welcoming community.
If you were going to write about a topic other than the main focus of your blog, what would it be?
I would love to be able to write about travelling but I don’t do it enough! I go on holiday maybe once or twice (if we’re lucky) a year – so content is limited in that area. But I have recently wrote one travel post and I really enjoyed sharing my experiences.
What is your current day job (if it’s not blogging), and what is your dream job (other than blogging)?
I work at a university recruiting and coordinating for a project in medical education! I love my job most days, but bad days like today are the worst. If I could have my dream job, I would be a performer/singer but I suffer with awful stage fright so not very feasible!
If you could spend a month in any country, where would you go?
America. I’d love to travel along the coasts/major towns and cities getting a feel for all the different places and sights. It seems to be so different to the UK and that’s so intriguing!
What are three things you’ve done in the past year that you’re proud of?
Past year is limiting as it’s only March! But if we were to go back 12 months, then I would say – starting and doing very well in my current job (I started at the busiest time of the year and picked up everything and more within that time), I started driving lessons! and just recently, I started being assertive for myself which I usually struggle with.
Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, or Pinterest?
If you’d have asked me 6 weeks ago, I’d have said Facebook. But since starting my blog, Twitter is where it is at. I’ve never used it so much in my entire life than I have in the past 6 weeks! Although, I do prefer Facebook’s interface – my blogging community is my favourite!
What is the coolest trip you’ve ever been on?
Probably Disneyland Paris back in 2009. I went with college and we had an amazing time exploring! It was like being a kid again; I had an autograph book and collected signatures from the characters etc. Loved it!
What’s your travel style?
My travel style is to plan ahead, book a city break or week-long relaxing break and see the sights! I’m not a beach/sunbathe person. I like exploring, seeing and doing.
Give me a random fact about yourself.
I am a nervous flyer as of 2015 after a bad experience – can’t fly without holding my partner’s hand or jumping at any sudden noise or movement of the plane! Strange what turbulence can do to the mind.
Thank you Elizabeth! Great questions, really enjoyed answering them! 🙂
Oddball Content’s Questions:
What is your dream job?
I spoke about my dream career above – but my dream job would be as a support worker/running my own support group for family members/friends of survivors of abuse. It’s been a dream of mine for a few years but difficult to implement so it’s on the shelf at the moment.
What do you think your life will be like in a year? And in ten years?
I hope in a year to have some money in the bank, be half-way to saving for a mortgage or have been on a big holiday before making that commitment. Hopefully in a year, I will still be blogging! In ten years, I hope to have a house and hopefully be married/committed to my partner (when he finally pops the question!) I hope to be in a job I love and am passionate about, making a good salary and being able to go to a restaurant and order what the hell I want without worrying about not affording it! Hey ho, dreams.
What is your proudest achievement?
My degree – I worked my butt off getting it, and it was such a relief to get the news through that I’d got a 2:1 after such a hard 3 years!
What is your favourite blog post you’ve ever written?
I wrote a blog post about blog posts the other day! (Blogception!) so that info is here!
Apart from blogging, what are your hobbies?
Music, singing, reading, crafting, shopping, gaming, cooking and sleeping but also being awake really early apparently! And lot’s of INGS it looks like.
How would you describe your fashion style?
Whatever I fancy but nothing tight, nothing uncomfortable! I also have a foot condition so I live in either my sketchers or my heeled boots to sort out the pain problem!
What’s the best place you’ve ever been to?
Hmm.. Disneyland or on a driving tour of Northern Ireland. I saw some beautiful sights on that trip, some stunning coastal views. Gorgeous country – both North and South!
If you had £1000 (or equivalent in your currency), what would you spend it on? Or would you save it?
If it was me, I would spend it on a big holiday. But apparently I have to ‘adult’ now – so it would go towards our mortgage money pot. Boo. 😦
What is the bravest thing you’ve ever done? What would you do if you were a little braver?
Ooo that’s a hard one. Probably ending my last relationship. It was the hardest yet easiest thing I ever had to do at the same time. Easy because it was the right thing to do, hardest because I didn’t think I’d go through with it. But somehow, I did. If I was a little braver, I’d have done it 5 years earlier!
What is/was your favourite class at school, college or university?
I loved music, English and drama in school! In college, it was music performance. In university, it was counselling.
What is one thing you want to learn or change in 2018?
I want to learn to drive and I want to change my lifestyle a little!
Thank you so much to you both again for the nomination! Fantastic questions that really got me thinking.
My questions are:
1. What’s the meaning behind your blog’s name?
2. What’s the hardest decision you ever had to make?
3. If you could go back in time to any time – in your lifetime or before – what would you change and why?
4. Which blog post made you feel the most emotional whilst writing it and why?
5. Is your blog private or open and shared amongst your family and friends?
6. One quality you picked up from your parent[s]? Would you change it?
7. If you could buy any item right now, what would it be?
8. What do you do in your spare time when you’re not working/blogging?
9. How have you changed in the last year? Is it for the good or the bad?
10. How do you plan to change in the next year?
11. Where does your inspiration for blog posts come from?
I’m going to nominate some new bloggers on the scene that I haven’t nominated before! I want to spread the love and opportunities I have been given when I was starting out so, I nominate:
Good luck everybody! Happy blogging!
